Financial Giving to Field Office Work
Today is a “Giving Day,” our community partners (Sandra Avalos) offers this message:
What began as a simple effort to organize churches for support has grown into something far greater—now we find ourselves standing in front of the ICE field office, serving our community in ways I never imagined.
We have a dedicated group of volunteers outside the field office Monday- Friday starting 5:30am. We’re encouraging families to have a plan in place—signing privacy waivers, making sure loved ones know their A-number, and understanding their rights. When someone is detained, we step in to help locate which detention center they were taken to, connect them with a free legal consultation, and guide families on how to add funds to commissary accounts so their loved ones can call home and purchase basic hygiene items.
The donations we receive go directly to supporting families in crisis—helping wives get an Uber home when they don’t drive, covering rent and essential bills, and even assisting with bus or plane tickets for those who need to return to their home country.
All of the on-site support—food, chairs, tables, tents, toys, coloring books, crayons, copies, clipboards, and pens—has been donated by churches and compassionate community members who believe in showing up for one another.
This work has become a blessing I never expected, and I am grateful for every person who has chosen to stand with us.
